For Hedy Varga, Personal Connections Are Key

Hedy brings to the Luskin Conference Center a wealth of experience in providing quality service to her clients. Working for Southern California hotels like the Ritz Carlton, Westin Century Plaza, the Beverly Hilton, and most recently, Loews Hollywood, Hedy understands what it takes to put customers at ease as they arrange high-profile meetings and events.

She believes her key to success has been to develop trustworthy relationships with her clients by being a good listener, demonstrating that she understandings their concerns, and booking meeting space and accommodations that help them achieve their objectives.

While new to UCLA, Hedy is no stranger to the needs and concerns of those coming from an educational environment. She says, “Many of my clients from area hotels were from UCLA, so I’ve come to understand and work with the challenges unique to academic and non-profit groups.”

Hedy, a native Angeleno, helps bring health science and medical-related groups to the Luskin Conference Center. She is excited to be working with clients in these fields, as she feels she has a special connection to UCLA through her own experiences.

“When I was six years old, I developed a life-threatening condition,” she relates. “I was brought to the UCLA Medical Center. The doctors and specialists here were wonderful and my family and I credit them for saving my life, so bringing health science groups to the Luskin Center is especially meaningful for me.”

When not sharing the beauties and benefits of the Luskin Conference Center with her clients, Hedy enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years and their young son.
