Los Angeles, California, December 8, 2015 … A new vision of intellectual inquiry, scholarly collaboration, civic engagement, and breakthrough discovery is taking shape in the heart of the UCLA campus with the construction of the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center. The property, which has a planned opening in August 2016, will be a state-of-the-art learning environment, welcoming scholars, innovators, and thought leaders to debate and shape ideas that lead to world-changing solutions. Interest has been so strong that the UCLA Luskin Conference Center is already accepting reservations from organizations, associations and companies across the country engaged in academic, philanthropic, educational and research activities. The 295,000-square-foot Luskin Conference Center, which has topped out and is on course for its August opening, will offer 254 guest rooms, 25,000 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant and lounge, and a superb art collection including many original works from artists affiliated with or passionate about UCLA.

The stated mission of the Luskin Conference Center is: To offer an inspired learning environment to the University and greater global community in a thoughtfully-designed space that fosters excellence, engagement, inspiration, and breakthroughs.
The Luskin Conference Center will draw the best academic minds, medical innovators, scientific researchers, political leaders, and social visionaries. More than a gathering place, the conference center will be an incubator of ideas, bringing great minds together in the center of the spectacular UCLA campus in a new facility designed to optimize the best in technology to enable productive, inspiring meetings and far-reaching results.
With 254 spacious guest rooms featuring views of the historic campus, 25,000 square feet of meticulously planned and highly versatile conference space, the Luskin Conference Center is designed to educate and inspire. Floor-to-ceiling windows in nearly every meeting room will feature views of the beautiful landscapes and iconic architecture of the UCLA campus. The Luskin Conference Center is anchored by a large multi-purpose conference hall with seating for up to 750 attendees and up to 500 guests for banquet-style events. Function spaces include 29 meeting rooms, including 25 well-sized breakout rooms, a tiered classroom with fixed seating for 80 and a vast outdoor event terrace with stunning views of the campus and athletic fields. A fully equipped and staffed Business Center will be available to guests.
UCLA is renowned for its research and technology and the Luskin Conference Center will offer the most advanced connectivity, audiovisual equipment and teleconference services available, supported by a highly trained technical staff. Accommodations and amenities will be consistent with most full-service hotels. The center’s 254 well-appointed guest rooms offer a choice of king or queen beds adorned with high quality linens, mattress toppers, and comfortable pillows to ensure an excellent night’s rest. All rooms are equipped with complimentary WiFi, flat screen 42” HDTV, docking station for electronic devices, speaker phone with voicemail, in-room safe, coffee maker, terry robes and earth-friendly sustainable toiletries. Express Room Service will offer a quick and convenient dining option. The flavors of the Mediterranean will inspire the innovative cuisine at PLATEIA, the Luskin Conference Center’s restaurant and lounge. Cuisine will include an array of fresh, seasonal California-grown ingredients, lean meat, the freshest seafood and artisan breads, pastas and cheeses, accompanied by fine wines, including several top California vintages.
The UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center is designed to serve the needs of individuals and groups attending campus meetings or events; those doing business with UCLA entities; and University of California faculty, students, staff and other University affiliates, in accordance with the University’s mission of teaching, research and service. The Luskin Conference Center may be used for educational, research and philanthropic purposes, and for interviews and recruiting. Guests and organizations eligible to use the conference center include alumni, visiting academics, vendors and consultants, companies engaged in philanthropic or educational initiatives, parents of students and families in the process of selecting a college. For-profit organizations may use the property within these parameters.
The UCLA campus enjoys an exceptional location in Westwood, one of Los Angeles’ most attractive and lively areas, noted for its vintage movie theaters, fine shops and restaurants and the nearby internationally renowned Getty Center. The Luskin Conference Center is just 10 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and 15 miles from Downtown Los Angeles.
